Ed Shoener
President
Ed and the team at Shoener Environmental help clients resolve regulatory issues, obtain environmental permits and manage environmental programs. Our focus has been on the development of renewable energy projects, particularly wind and solar energy projects, as well as utility, residential and commercial land development projects. Other areas of expertise are in the management of Brownfield and hazardous site cleanup projects, water and wastewater treatment projects and environmental site assessments.
Ed is an environmental management executive and consultant with over 30 years experience in the environmental protection profession. He held management positions with the US EPA and the Pennsylvania DEP and has domestic and foreign experience in Russia and Eastern Europe. He developed and taught courses on environmental management and science at Marywood University and Keystone College in Pennsylvania. He holds a Master of Environmental Pollution Control degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Resource Management, both from Penn State University.
Christine A. Geist, PWS, CE
Director of Ecological Services Program
Christine and her group provide wetland and stream delineation and permitting services, threatened and endangered plant species/rare community assessment services, and wildlife impact assessment services. She has worked on numerous large scale wind farm projects, utility projects, residential and industrial construction projects, and development projects for private residential owners and small businesses. Christine is a Professional Wetland Scientist and a Certified Ecologist with over fifteen years of experience in research and consulting in the environmental field. She has memberships in a number of professional societies including the Ecological Society of America, the Society of Wetland Scientists and the Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles. She holds a Master of Science in Biological Science from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science with Honors, Biological Science from Wilkes University.
Rob Shoener, P.E., LEED AP
Director of Renewable Energy and Engineering Programs
Rob and the engineering staff provide engineering and construction support services in all facets of land development activities from site design and permitting to construction management and inspections. Rob has specialized experience in the design and permitting of wind energy projects and has overseen the preparation of site plans and permit documents for wind energy facilities with a nameplate capacity of over 1 gigawatt since 2003. Rob is a LEED Accredited Professional and a registered professional engineer in the States of California, Pennsylvania and New York. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Lehigh University.
Jaclyn Giles
Director of GIS and Site Assessment Program
Jackie and her group provide Geographic Information System (GIS) services to create GIS Datasets and analyze data for the preparation of maps and reports to evaluate sites for land development potential and to support permitting efforts. Field support is provided by using Global Positioning Systems (GPS) navigation and data collection to support wetland delineations, watershed analyses, and site assessments. Jackie has extensive experience in conducting Phase 1 environmental site evaluations in accordance with ASTM requirements. She has memberships in a number of professional societies, including the Society for Conservation GIS and the Pennsylvania Mapping and Geographic Information Consortium. She has a Professional Certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Penn State, holds a Master of Science in Geo-Environmental Studies from Shippensburg University and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
