Utility

Shoener Environmental has completed many large scale ecological studies and reports for the large utility scale projects.  We have worked on projects that encompass thousands of acres and stretch for many miles with road and transmission line routes that have exceeded 40 miles.  We have helped clients permit projects that required pipe lines under rivers and power lines over them.

We have worked for major electric utilities on long transmission line corridors, drinking water companies that need to install new distribution lines, sewer authorities that are expanding their service territory and for gas companies that are installing new gathering lines.

More than providing good technical advice, Shoener Environmental helps you find a strategy to work your way through the regulatory maze to get your project built. Our staff has held federal and state government management positions, so we understand what it takes to obtain project approval from regulatory agencies.

We have helped utilities obtain permits for long linear projects through rural forest and agriculture areas and we also have helped utilities obtain permits for utility line projects in highly urbanized areas along major roadways and through residential areas.

We understand the regulations and the environmental issues associated with utility line projects.  We have the scientific and engineering staff to handle your project from the early stage environmental assessments all the way through to final site permitting and construction oversight.

Most importantly we understand that a utility needs to respect their customers and the general public in its service territory. We always work with our utility clients to make sure that they know when and where we are doing field work so that they have plenty of time to notify customers and landowners.  We do our work on time and in budget so that there are no surprises.
