Ecological Studies

The scientists at Shoener Environmental perform wetlands and other waters evaluations, and research and surveying for Endangered, Threatened, and Rare animal and plant species and communities. Our team of highly skilled scientists are capable of evaluating a site for a wide range of potential ecological constraints and can perform the required surveys, saving time and money. Shoener Environmental has the capability to assist clients through coordination with state and federal agencies to obtain the necessary agency approvals to get projects built. Wetland Delineations

Shoener Environmental has certified Professional Wetland Scientists on staff to evaluate your site for the presence of state and federal regulated wetlands and other waters (e.g., ponds and streams). Our staff can assess your property for these features and we have the capability of using handheld, sophisticated GPS equipment to provide on-site survey of the delineated features that is accepted for preliminary site planning by most federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Our services include:

  • Wetland identification with a wetlands presence or absence survey
  • Wetland boundary delineations in accordance with US Army Corps of Engineers and State agency requirements
  • Obtaining Jurisdictional Determination (JD) letters from the US Army Corps of Engineers
  • Preparation of permit applications to obtain approval for project impacts
  • Design of wetland replacement and mitigation sites
  • Monitoring of wetland replacement and mitigation projects

Endangered and Threatened Animal Species

Shoener Environmental has the experience to perform surveys for state and federal listed species and a network of qualified experts to call upon, if required for:

Shoener Environmental has skilled botanists on staff that are recognized by federal and state agencies to perform surveys for State rare and Federal listed species, and that have extensive experience identifying and delineating rare communities. Rare species we have surveyed for recently:
